Based on Skretting's highly successful Marine Halibut feeds, the new Select Marine bait feeds have been specially developed in response to demand from the angling market for a highly attractive, highly digestible pelleted bait feed suitable for big carp and other specimen fish.

Select Marine bait feeds are nutritionally complete diets containing the optimum balance between protein, fat, carbohydrate, energy, vitamins and minerals. They are carefully formulated using a mix of high quality protein and energy sources including highly palatable fish meals, predigested fish meals and fish oils. The use of betaine also ensures high attractiveness. The dietary carbohydrates have also been rendered highly digestible through the use of cooker/extrusion technology which also confers very high physical quality to the pellets. Elite feed is formulated on the basis of the latest nutritional research from ARC which has established the digestibility coefficients of nutrients in different feed ingredients.

These results allow Skretting to formulate with ever-increasing accuracy. Thus Elite has a slightly lower crude protein content compared to other on-growing diets but offers the same balance of digestible amino acids. This will ensure optimum conversion of dietary protein to fish tissue.

Commercial-scale feeding trials have proven this to be a good general-purpose feed which is ideally suited for less intensive farming systems. However, Elite should not be considered when optimum FCRs and/or the fastest growth rates are the main objectives of the farmer.

Although Standard Expanded has a lower nutrient specification than other diets in the range it is, nevertheless, a complete, balanced feed. Standard Expanded should be considered when a fully-floating diet is required to suit the more extensive rearing conditions found at many brown trout farms or fisheries where feed is broadcast over a wide area.
